Hello and welcome to my virtual reality store and my first ever blog post!
Since this is essentially a store about my life and experiences, I feel like it's only fitting that we discuss the things that really fire up my passion for living on this beautiful planet of ours.
Travel
Oh man! What can I say? I love to travel. I've been travelling all over Canada pretty frequently since I was about 24 or 25 and there is nothing I love doing more than seeing new things and meeting new people. As I'm sure you know, Canada is a HUGE country and there is a lot to see and do here. I have so far visited every province more than once, swam in both oceans, climbed several mountains, gotten lost in several of our sprawling national parks and there is still so much more out there for me to see.
I have one challenge with this, though.
Over the last year or so, I have finally made the jump and started travelled outside of Canada...
Now I have to see the rest of the world too... How will I find the time?!
I was lucky enough to have been sent to live in the Philippines for 6 months to set up a new call centre for my current employers. It was amazing! I loved the people there and the vibrant night life and the food and the scenery and the weather and just about everything to do with the whole trip. I got to do things and see places I could never have imagined from just my little corner of the planet here in Canada.
With this in mind, I used weekends and vacation days to travel to other cities and countries in South-East Asia and now I'm completely hooked. I got to visit places all over the Philippines, Korea, Hong Kong and spent 14 days living the life in Thailand. I can't stress enough how amazing it was and how fortunate I was to experience it.
Now that I'm back in Canada I'm struck with a bit of a dilemma. Do I head to the Yukon and spend my next vacation wandering around up there with nothing but a tent, a few supplies and some close friends? Or do I head to Europe and experience another brand new culture or two? Maybe I'll just head back to Bottle Beach in Koh Phangan and spend some time reading in a hammock.
Gotta say, I love being spoiled for choice.
Check out next week's blog for more about what gets me fired up!
